Computer Science Enrichment at ANU: EOIs close 13 September

The ANU is seeking to build upon its highly successful Mathematics Enrichment program to offer a Computer Science Enrichment opportunity to students in Years 10-12. This pilot program will run in Term 4 2019 on the following dates:

  • Every Friday, 5:00pm – 6:30pm on
    • 18 October
    • 25 October
    • 1 November
    • 8 November
    • 15 November

Students that participate will engage with a range of computational and algorithmic thinking techniques, eventually implementing some of these through code in later sessions.

Teachers are also invited to come along and see the program in action.

Formal invitations will be extended to students by the ANU, but expressions of interest are sought by next Friday, 13 September via email to bruce.fuda@inteact.act.edu.au. The EOI must include:

  • Name of student;
  • Name of school;
  • Teacher name;
  • Teacher email.

Students from all government, catholic and independent schools will be considered. Teachers may nominate multiple students from their school.

Places are limited to 30 students total. Please share this information with colleagues and encourage them to nominate students that have shown an aptitude for computational thinking, or those who wish to extend their understanding of computer science beyond what is offered through the school curriculum.
