ACT Students’ Digital Innovations Showcase UPDATE!

Event Overview:

The ACT Students’ Digital Innovations Showcase (hosted by InTEACT)  is a pilot event aimed at celebrating the innovative IT projects of senior students in the ACT. The event emphasises creativity, collaboration, and learning through engaging presentations, and demonstrations, providing students with opportunities to gain insights, enhance their skills, and connect with industry experts.

Event Details: 

Location: Advanced Engineering Lab, Building 27A, University of Canberra

Date: 2nd of November

Time: 10am-12pm

Setup: We will provide you with a table, chairs and power. Participants will need to bring all other needed equipment.

Eligibility:

Participants: Open to Year 10, Year 11 and 12 students from schools within the ACT.
Team Composition: Students can participate individually or in teams

Project Categories:

We will happily take any projects, but for the purposes of judging we will be organising them into the following categories:

  • Digital Media – Multimedia content including digital art, video production, animation, or interactive media
  • Software Development – Web applications, mobile apps, games, or software tools
  • AI, Machine Learning & Data Science – Data analysis, machine learning models, data visualisation, or predictive analytics
  • Networking & Cybersecurity – Network design, cybersecurity solutions, ethical hacking, or system administration
  • Robotics & Mechatronics (includes IoT & Smart Devices) – Autonomous systems, robotics projects, integrated mechatronics designs, smart home technologies or wearable devices

Industry Professional Evaluations:

We have a range of industry professionals who are highly skilled and experienced in various fields, who have volunteered to assist with evaluating the presented projects. They will evaluate the projects against the following criteria:

  • Creativity & Innovation
  • Technical Mastery
  • Community Impact
  • Sustainability
  • User Experience
  • Quality & Completeness

Event Goals:

  • Celebrate the achievements of Year 10/11/12 students in IT within different course streams.
  • Provide a platform for students to showcase their work and receive constructive feedback.
  • Encourage networking and collaboration among students, educators, and industry professionals.
  • Promote creativity, technical excellence, and innovation within the IT community.
