Each year, WIC recognises the achievements of young female secondary school students and awards them a financial contribution to assist with their tertiary studies in a digital technology or ICT related field through the Kate Muir Student Encouragement Award. Awards will be presented at the WIC Dinner Debate on 17 November 2023, shortlisted students will be invited to attend the dinner with their parent or guardian.
All eligible students nominated for the WIC Student Award (whether shortlisted or not) will receive a printed certificate of nomination from the WIC committee.
In 2023, WIC is also offering an additional award for first year university students called the NextGen award, teachers are also welcome to nominate past students who are now at university studying a degree in a digital technologies related subject.
