In June 2020, education ministers agreed that it was timely to review the Foundation to Year 10 Australian Curriculum. InTEACT has been monitoring the review closely, and has been participating at every opportunity to ensure the Digital Technologies curriculum, and the ICT Capability (to be renamed Digital Literacy) reflect the needs and interests of students and teachers in ACT schools.
From 29 April until 8 July 2021, a consultation website will be available for interested stakeholders and the public to review the proposed revisions to the curriculum and have their say via a survey format. This will give InTEACT members the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed revisions to the F-10 Australian Curriculum. All learning areas, the general capabilities and the cross-curriculum priorities are included in the review.
If you are interested in finding out more about the Australian Curriculum review you can visit the ‘Curriculum review’ page of the ACARA website for more information.
InTEACT will be facilitating some curriculum review sessions during the review period, to give local teachers an opportunity to contribute to a shared response on behalf of teachers in the ACT. Stay tuned to hear when these sessions will take place. These sessions will be a mix of online and face to face sessions, and each will have a clear focus to facilitate meaningful feedback for ACARA to include in their formal review process.
