Project Description:
This resource pack includes resources for the integration of the Digital and Design Technologies curriculum. It includes unit outlines, teaching resources and tutorials for Visual and Object-Oriented programming (Mindstorms, RobotC, Arduino), in which students complete a long term robotics project. Students are introduced to a basic physical design of a robot and basic algorithms. They are then required to develop their own designs, and adapt the basic algorithms to enhance their robots artificial intelligence. Throughout the development of their robotics platform, students are required to maintain a logbook that follows the process outlined in the Australian Digital and Design Technologies curriculum. This logbook and specific questions can be used to assess the students’ knowledge through the development of their robotic football player. This unit is designed to be taught at the end of the 7-8 or 9-10 Band of the Digital and Design Technologies subject in the Australian Curriculum.

Downloadable Resources – the zip file contains both PDF and Word versions of the resources.

Note that this resources will require that schools have a set of Lego NXT Robotics kits.
